happy birthday jonah!

on sunday night we celebrated Jonah's (our cousin) birthday! Chloe LOVES Jonah so she had a great time! She went up and down the stairs about a million times with him, clapped when he sang & played his guitar and helped him blow out the candles and open presents! She didn't want to come home!

chloe and her new barbie jeep!

nates parents came in town this weekend and brought with them a Barbie Jeep for Chloe! She was so excited!!!! Her favorite thing to do in it is watch tv! Yes, my child is a bit afraid of actually driving her Jeep.  So we played with it for a little while outside and then she wanted to bring it inside! So, we squeezed it into the living room and she hasn't stopped playing with it!!! She wants to eat in it, play with her babies in it, watch t.v. and she even put pillows inside of it.  She loves opening and shutting the doors and "driving too fast for Mimi" which consists of Chloe jerking the wheel side to side really fast, not actually going anywhere! She also loves the radio, even though Mommy has to remind her to turn it down!!!!  here is the progression of the evening.....

yep-we are big fans.  to all of you who say it is "over-rated & over-priced" I say to you..."boo".  I am not a big fan of grocery shopping, like not at all, so if a store can lure me in with their bigness, prettiness and yummy samples-I'm in! We took Chloe on opening day and had so much fun! We ate lots of samples and bought way too many groceries! Chloe loves it because she can push her own cart...you just have to keep an eye on her because she has a slight tendency to "add things to her cart", especially if those items have Mickey Mouse, Dora or Curious George on them! Afterwards we ate pizza there and watched American Idol! What more can you ask of your grocery store?!! We went back on Saturday to get a few more things so I snapped a few more pictures!

on Tuesday we met the Taylors at the Stonebriar to play, eat lunch and do some shopping! Chloe, Caleb & Caroline all loved playing on the toys...but were much more interested in the toys that you paid to ride (of course!).  Although Katherine and I really wanted to get more shopping done...the kids thought otherwise...they are no longer big fans of their strollers...DARN! :0 later that night chloe wanted to try on her new swimsuits and insisted on standing on her "stage" during American Idol so that she could dance along!

chloe has lots of boots, surprised? you probably shouldn't be if you know me very well! :0 mimi brought over a new pair of red boots for chloe this weekend.  she won't put them away in her closet and insists on keeping them in the living room when she is not wearing them.  On Saturday night we had Supper Club at Babes (YUM!!)-and Chloe went to Mimi & Papa's house in her nommers, her pink hat and of course...her red boots.  Ta-dah!!

Then this morning she would not get dressed for me!!! (She finally would after I told her we were meeting Papa for lunch and she couldn't go unless she got dressed) but...here is how she spent her morning! Running around yelling "EEEEEE-AWWWWW!" (Yee-Haw)

last weekend we went to canton and chloe found some new friends!!! i forgot my camera at home so I had to take these with my phone...but isn't she funny? she was so gentle with the fake geese that I think she thought they were real!  She wanted to take one home with us...I can just see one of them in our front yard!!!

on the way home from houston, nate and I decided to  try chloe out in her new big girl bed.  i had bought the bed months ago in round top and we were just waiting till sometime after christmas to do it all.  i had been kind of dreading the idea of a big girl bed because Chloe normally wakes up around 8 and plays very happily in her bed until around 9:00-and at night we lay her down around 8:30 and she plays and sings until she finally falls asleep.  I was terrified that when put her in her bed that she would wake up differently or just get out even with the siderails on! Okay-so back to my story...we got back from houston and I went and bought her bedding which I had luckily already picked out from Target-ya'll know how much I LOVE Rachel Ashwell...did I tell you she ate my cupcakes!!?? Well, that is a whole 'nother story! so that evening we put it all together and she could hardly wait to get in it! As soon as we laid her down for real, we ran out of the room to watch her on our new flat screen Chloe-TV! It is the best entertainment anywhere!!! She looked around and then started talking to her baby, read books and finally fell asleep! Same thing in the morning-woke up, talked to baby and read her books until I came in to get her!!! Thank you Jesus!!!! I was so relieved!!! So far she has yet to realize that she can totally get out towards the end of her bed! We'll see how long that lasts, tonight will be the 5th night so I will keep you posted!! Although I love getting to jump in to bed with her to read in the mornings...I will definitely miss seeing her standing up in her crib every morning! :(

happy new year!

on new years eve we decided to hang out with family rather than trying to find a sitter (especially since our sitters are our family!!) So we headed to Palio's for some terrific pizza with mom, dad, lindsay and lance, bob & cheryl & sheri.  Afterwards, we headed back to our house where we laid Chloe down and then everyone came over to play games and watch the ball drop.  We had a great time just hanging out! On new years day we slept in, watched the parade & went to Mimi & Papa's for one of my favorite meals of the year-pork chops, rice, gravy, black eyed peas & croissants! Yummm!! There's not much better than some good ol' gravy!
