Sweetheart Ball

Chloe and Nate went to their first Sweetheart Ball last weekend! She said she was going to be a princess and Daddy was going to be her prince and they would dance all night long! They had so much fun dancing, having dinner, making a craft, playing games and eating cupcakes! It was a special night that I hope she never forgets! :)

we were so excited that the super bowl was HERE and the PACKERS were in it! Even thogh we couldn't go to the game we tried to take advantage of their hotel being 10 minutes away and went twice to see them! On Saturday we brought a football and got 11 autographs! The guys didn't have practice and were casually coming out of the hotel to go to lunch! It was so exciting! Chloe was excellent "bait" because who could say no to her right?! On Sunday Nate & I went back to see them get on the bus to go the the super bowl! We were sooo close to the buses! It was so exciting to see them!

when we got back from houston, it was like Christmas all over again! chloe got to play with all of her toys that she had opened on Christmas, but couldn't take with us to houston!

christmas morning we woke up at our house with lots of fun presents to open! chloe got new luggage, barbies, books, a baby and tons of new games to play with! She was so excited that Santa had come! Afterwards we headed to mom and dads to have brunch and open more gifts and then it was off to houston! luckily nates parents live in cypress so it takes about 4 hours with 1-2 stops on our way, not too bad! it is fabulous getting to spend Christmas day with both sets of families!

on christmas eve we slept in, hung around the house enjoying having nate home and then went to make some WidowBird deliveries! It was a blessing to be able to bless other families in need. We were so thankful for all of the families who made donations to help purchase christmas gifts for them! Later that night we headed to church for our Christmas Eve service and then to mom and dads for Christmas Eve dinner!

we had so much fun at our annual christmas ladies event! yummy food, great door prizes, good friends and a fabulous speaker! tina wesson , the winner of Survivor the Australian outback, came and spoke! She has a great story and is such a sweet Christian woman.

Nate and I also launched our new ministry/non-profit, "WidowBird" that evening! It is a ministry that provides hope to widows & orphans locally & globally. You can see the video here. The Coppell High School paper did a story today on WidowBird which can be found here...

The ticket sales benefited WidowBird and we did a little video and sold merchandise that benefits the widow/orphan initiatives! It was so exciting but I was sooooo nervous for some reason! :) God is so good though and it feels so good to have worked so hard for something and it be well received! i can't wait to see how God can use us!

well, as usual, Chloe was NOT a big fan of Santa. We waited in line and she seemed fine until it was our turn and she immediately started crying! I'm thinking, oh no, here we are in the middle of neimans crying our head off and we've waited in line and you AREN'T going to get your picture taken now?!?! luckily the photographer tricked chloe by telling her that Santa needed to feed his reindeer so he would just take some pics of her, meanwhile Santa snuck up beside her! She had NO idea! Nate & I were laughing sooo hard! For the last picture she turned and realized he was right there and jumped down and ran over to us! Thank goodness we got a good one! :)

today chloe and i went to The Storybook House in Dallas to shop for some new books. I have always LOVED children's books (maybe its the school teacher in me) so I am so glad Chloe is addicted to them too! (I guess with a mom and dad book lover that was bound to happen!) The Storybook House has beautiful framed illustrations and art plus children's books to buy. We saw some beautiful books and chose a few. Chloe was so excited to get to use some of her birthday money that she had been saving! Afterwards we walked over to Stoneleigh P's for some good greasy hamburgers and Chloe got to pick our table, she chose outside of course and luckily it was a beautiful day! She is such a funny little girl and she is growing up so fast! She told me that she had a fabulous girls day and loves to go shopping with mommy, especially when its for books at magical places! That girl is amazing and I love her more everyday. :)

back from southern sudan!

I'm back and I already wish I could go back today and take each one of you with me to experience the amazing humbleness, joy and hope that the people of Southern Sudan exude! I learned so much from their faith. We were able to go everyday and visit a village where a church had just been planted which was called "Rockway". Many of the people in the village were not believers but were very anxious to hear about God and many received Christ while we were there as well as get baptized! One particular person who I will never forget was Michael, a small store owner, who told me that he had been waiting to hear about God and was so glad that we had come to share the good news with him. Over the next few days me and my partner, plus our two amazingly awesome translators were able to disciple Michael & teach him how to use the Evangecube to share the gospel with others at his store. You could truly see the Holy Spirit begin to work in his life. Michael allowed us to stay at his store for hours everyday to share the gospel with everyone who passed by. It was so amazing to see God work in such a big way! Please pray for Michael as he continues to share the gospel with other villagers, begins to attend Rockway Church and begins to find other items to sell at his store besides brew & cigarettes to support his family.

Thank you guys for praying for me as well as praying for my family as I was away!

God is GOOD & so are ya'll!! Here are a few pics and a video!

tomorrow for Sudan for TEN DAYS!!!! AHHHHH! I wanted to thank each of you for supporting me and praying for me during this journey! I can't wait to see what God will do in my life and the lives of others! Please be in prayer for safe travel, my family while I am away, any anxiety that I may have, the team I am going with & that God would open my eyes to recognize His divine appointments on this trip and open the hearts of the people that we are able to witness to. I thank each of you so much, this trip never would have been possible without the grace of God and friends and family like you who have supported me & prayed me through this!!

I can't wait to tell you all about it when I get home!

this weekend nate and i celebrated our 7th anniversary! wowza! last weekend the girls got together to celebrate a few birthdays at patrizio's and afterwards we went to see Valentines Day...it was the perfect little girly night! PLUS I went crazy and made a shirt! Yep! then I was totally lame and made nate take a picture of me "sportin" it to church the next day! :) i look like a super goober but I was so proud :) i saw this one and thought...i can do that! its basically a pillowcase dress that is tapered & well, hers is much fancier but i was still quite proud of my last minute "adventure in shirt making" and chloe even helped push the sewing pedal! she is quite the little helper! :)

today it snowed! like SNOWED! big time! chloe had school and I had a photo shoot with Eric Cates at one of his new listings and sweet Sheila came to do a little staging! after hitting up starbucks we headed to keller in the snow storm! look at how deep the snow was!

thank goodness for rubber boots! :) after chloe got home we made a "snowman" and drank hot chocolate before opening up a massive package that Grandma and Grandpa sent with Valentine gifts for all of us! Yippee!!! On my agenda for the afternoon...stay inside, curl up on the couch and catch up on beth moore before we meet on Monday for bible study! :) i figure its a good day for that!

look what I did! i had been eyeing the keep calm and carry on posters on etsy for awhile now, but felt they were overpriced once you added shipping too-SOOOO-I got crazy and made my own! plus a few other things to frame! one says "today I will be happier than a bird with a french fry" (can I get an amen?) and another has psalm 145:14 and another has "i am here to serve with joy" good reminder huh?! then I headed to marshalls and bought plain white clearance frames and spent a whopping $10 total on everything! woo-hooooo!!

today chloe had her valentines party at school! she was so excited to eat cupcakes and pass out her valentines! she got all dolled up in her valentine gear...including a cute little felt bracelet and clip I made her! can you tell i am enjoying the sewing machine?! :) oh-and some of you asked about the pants i made-yes-i did use a pattern! it is by portebellopixie and I ordered it online! :) super fun-except that I have decided that I may be a ruffle kind of girl...but I am not a fan of making ruffles! ughh! anyways, here are our fun valentine goodies for our friends!

we had a fabulous christmas in houston! we played games, saw Princess & the Frog, saw old friends & hung out with family! thank you grandma & grandpa for a WONDERFUL Christmas! We love you!

we started out the evening at church for the christmas eve service. i was a bit nervous because the preacher had asked us to do our Jesus' birthday celebration that our family does which meant that chloe had to be on stage the entire service-eek! luckily, she did great though and we all remembered our parts :) afterwards we headed to mimi and papa's to do Jesus' Birthday with extended family and open gifts!

this year we took chloe to see the lights in farmers branch again! she loved seeing all the lights, but getting to see Santa at the end AND getting a candy cane was by far her favorite part! :0
